I saw a rainbow today
And as I looked up the red was bright with rays
As I went down the colours, the colours began to fade
Which I had to adjust my eyes and look away
I asked a man sitting on a park bench
“Did you see the rainbow after the rain?” which left him drenched
Another man said “He must have seen it all right…”
“…I was wondering why he kept looking at the sky?”
The spoken man then walked away
With a satisfaction he was right to say
But the man who sat quietly on the park bench
Then brought out from under his shirt a sign which he stopped from getting wet
As I read the sign
That man was blind
As I turned back to see the red’s bright rays
The red was still there, the red had stayed
And the violet blended so well with the blue sky’s clear day
Which then made me wonder was there really a rainbow there today?

Is what we see really what we get? If we cannot trust ourselves and make our own decisions regardless on whether we believe it is right and someone else thinks it is wrong then who can we trust, and can we really trust people or are the saying it for the sake of themselves and just for the sake of saying it? And then in the end who cares? Everyone makes mistakes, love begins and it dies, if a man leaves his wife or vice versa because they’re love has died then who are we to punish them on what we may see as an act of grievance when to them to let each other go may feel so right; a family leaves their daughter to grow; an act such as this may seem like the most scariest and cruelest thing to do and even so they do it anyway; everything we ever do in this world, in our lives is what we deem is our passion and our love, and that’s all it is I guess, so what I’m saying is it's love? |
